Other investigators conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials on the effect of chromium on glucose and insulin responses in people with glucose intolerance or Type 2 diabetes. (25) Only one of the 15 trials reporting adequate data showed that chromium reduced glucose and insulin concentrations and significantly reduced glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c).

More studies are needed on the effects of dietary supplements on diabetes and glucose abnormalities.  Studies on dietary supplements and their interaction with prescribed medications are very limited and needed as well.
