 At the end of 2003, an estimated 1,039,000 to 1,185,000 persons in the U.S. were living with HIV/AIDS. Twenty-four to twenty-seven percent of these people do not know that they have HIV.
 
Between 11 and 15% of U.S. AIDS cases occur in people over age 50. An estimated 5,000 to 6,000 young persons aged 15 to 24 years
acquire HIV each day.

 

Worldwide, one of every 100 adults under the age of 49 is HIV-positive.

One out of every four Zimbabwean is HIV positive.

One of every five people newly infected with HIV/AIDS is now Asian.

About one out of every seven people living with HIV/AIDS is an Indian.
